Introducing the new Moravian Giving Portal!

“We will support, according to our ability, the financial needs of the local congregation, the District, the Province, and the Unity. We will consider the support of the benevolent causes of the Moravian Church, both at home and abroad, as a privilege, an opportunity, and a responsibility.”

– Moravian Covenant for Christian Living

Your Moravian Ministries Foundation in America is working to promote charitable giving and make it easier to give above and beyond support for your local congregation. Regardless of current trends or tax policy, we know Moravians are compelled to give as a response to God’s love. Here’s how the new Moravian Giving Portal makes giving easier:

One Central Place

Our dream is to have all Moravian ministries represented in one single place. And we’re off to a great start at https://mmfa.info/giving-portal. You can easily give to a specific organization, whether it’s an established agency or an emerging ministry. Where online giving has already been established, our link from the Giving Portal will simply take you to that agency’s existing donor form. In other cases, such as Moravian congregations, approximately 75% did not have existing online giving tools. So, for those congregations that invest in the Moravian Common Fund, your Moravian Ministries Foundation in America has established online giving on their behalf through the Giving Portal.

Online Giving

Some types of charitable giving are rising. Among them are online giving and recurring gifts. Some of your friends, members and supporters may find it challenging to make gifts in person because of mobility, distance, health, or weather. For many of the same reasons you live steam your services, online gifts make sense. Many families now prefer remembering their loved ones with charitable gifts in lieu of flowers. Using the online giving links facilitate the participation of many and take care of the proper acknowledgements for you. Your organization’s web master and social media guru can easily add the links to the online giving forms available through your foundation.

New Ways to Give

Feel called to support a cause, but don’t have the time to research and monitor the specific organizations? Then our new Field of Interest Funds might be for you. Here, your gift is to a field of interest – for example alleviation of hunger. A board of Moravians accepts grant applications. The board advises MMFA on applicable grant awards. Your Moravian Ministries Foundation in America takes care of the due diligence to make sure the funds are used according to the grant criteria.

Also, you can give generally to your Moravian Province or District.

Or, you can contribute to an already-established scholarship fund, donor advised fund, designated fund, or mission and ministry fund created by a fellow believer.

Any of your gifts through the Giving Portal can be recurring or one-time, anonymous or identified, or in honor or memory of someone. Remember the Moravian Giving Portal through your social media birthday fund raisers too.
